Filterkaffee

Karimikui Filter

Karimikui Filter

Red currant, grapefruit and lemon zest — a light-roasted Kenyan filter coffee with clear, lively acidity.

Karimikui is a washing station in Kirinyaga County on the slopes of Mount Kenya, at 1,600 to 1,900 metres on volcanic soil. It belongs to the Rungeto Farmers Co-operative Society, which brings together several hundred smallholders — each farming around one hectare of red soil, where vegetables for the family grow alongside the coffee.

This microlot is washed, with an extended fermentation and a soaking stage. That brings clarity and structure to the cup — and a sweetness that only fully emerges as it cools. Roasted light, so the acidity carries.
